Task 1: Highlighting Significant Trends Drills (Writing)
Targeted training to help you spot and report the most important movements in Academic Task 1. You will learn to rank trends, filter noise, and build a two sentence overview that emphasizes peaks, crossovers, turning points, and composition shifts. Includes quick scan rules, graded intensity language, and timed drills with sample frames. Use this pack to write clear, accurate, and concise reports under time pressure.
Playbook at a glance
- Read the title, units, and time span.
- Circle the big moves: peak, minimum, crossover, turning point, fastest rise or fall.
- Group items by shared pattern, not by color order.
- Overview first, numbers later.
- Prove each claim with 1 to 2 precise figures.

Use boosters with care: much, far, significantly. Combine with comparatives: X was significantly higher than Y.
